Sand suction pumps are designed to extract and handle sand ,slurry or other abrasive solids.
The EPN series sand suction pump is designed based on two-phase flow theory, featuring high hydraulic efficiency and excellent wear resistance. It maintains stable performance while conveying media containing solid particles, making it suitable for various applications such as sand dredging in rivers, lakes, and seas, land reclamation through sand blowing, river channel dredging, sediment clearing, embankment reinforcement, iron ore and tailings extraction, coal mining, power plants, and mining enterprises where solid-laden media need to be transported. It is widely used in the Yellow River Basin, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Tianjin, Tangshan, and other areas for sand dredger operations, loading sand vessels, and long-distance sediment transport on land. The pump can handle media concentrations of up to 50%, with particle sizes reaching up to 80 millimeters.
Product Features and Advantages:
- The pump is composed of components such as the pump casing, impeller, liner, shaft, shaft seal, support frame, bearing housing, and base. The pump casing, impeller, and liner are made from different materials such as gray cast iron, cast steel, and wear-resistant alloys, while the shaft is crafted from high-quality carbon steel. The support frame and other parts are made of ordinary cast iron.
- The single-pump casing structure allows for easy disassembly and maintenance. The design of the secondary impeller enhances its operational lifespan.
- The discharge outlet direction can be adjusted in increments of 45 degrees.
- The wide impeller flow passage can transport large particle media, with a conveyance distance of up to 2000 meters.
- Curved vanes on the impeller’s rear cover create negative pressure during operation, preventing slurry from entering the shaft seal. The gap between the impeller and the protective plate can be adjusted using adjustment screws on the bearing housing, maintaining consistent performance. The sealing mechanism employs a packing seal, which is simple and reliable.
- To protect the pump during operation, a special method is applied to the pump’s anti-leakage packing chamber. An auxiliary flushing pump is installed to direct clean water with pressure higher than the slurry pressure into the anti-leakage packing chamber. Mechanical seals can also be used across all pump types, eliminating the need for a flushing pump.
- The pump is driven using an elastic cylindrical pin coupling connected to the power unit. When viewed from the power unit’s perspective, the pump shaft rotates in a clockwise direction.
